The Burgundy region is a narrow strip between Dijon and Beaujolais where Pinot Noir and Chardonnay reign supreme. The Cote d’Or is considered Burgundy proper but the Cote Chalonnaise and Macon should also be included. This small and sometimes complicated area where villages, vineyards and climats are all uniquely classified represents a diverse range in style thanks to the hallowed terroir of this region. The unique soil, climate, topography and many other factors all contribute to make wines from Burgundy unique and very special. Regional and village specific bottlings and classified premier cru and grand cru wines all contribute to the attraction that is Burgundy. It’s easy to fall in love with Burgundy, its people, its beautiful scenery and the true old-world artisan craft of making wine. We visit Burgundy regularly, we are members of La Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin, and we take pride in offering a unique and diverse selection of Red and White Burgundy at Fine Wine Cellars in Stowe, Vermont.
